any suggestions how to get rid of recurring leg cramps? stretching the muscle and rubbing his leg arent helping at all. its mainly his calf muscle but occasionally hsi toes too…has been happening on and off since this morning
first thought it was dehydration/lack of salt so he drank a pint of water with a little bit of salt and lemon in it. but it didnt help

Bananas are good bc sometimes it is a lack of potassium. I tend to get them when working out alot and I have to increase my banana intake. Hope he feels better soon!

Staying hydrated is key! Also, cramps can be caused by low calcium or potassium or a vitamin deficiency so make sure he takes a multivitamin and intakes a balanced diet. I also suffer from cramps but in the arch of my feet and make the time to stretch them out daily and get enough sleep. Just some ideas that have worked for me.

thanks for the suggestions!
@julies1949: from that article it seems it would either be the lack of minerals ,standing a lot yesterday or dehyrdation from drinking yesterday
i now need to google what has potassium other than bananas – there must be somethign in the house. i was going to give him a multivitamin but realised i only have berocca – which only has vitamins b and c and magnesium

@newname_99: Ugh, when I am hungover my knees ache the dickens. Ibprofin, a clif bar washed down with a starbucks iced green tea, and a nice warm bath always do it for me. 🙂
