Do you have any heels that are of similar height? Try them on with your Fiance wearing dress shoes (don’t forget that he won’t be barefoot either!). Stand in front of a mirror or have friends take photos to see how it will look to people other than you. Any improved posture from the heels will be negated if you’re slouching to try to be shorter!

For what it’s worth, I wore flats on my wedding day and my posture didn’t suffer. Plus I was SO comfortable!

Those shoes are beautiful though!

I have this same issue – my fiance is maybe 1 inch taller.  Here are the shoes I’ve bought (keep in mind that since your fiance will be wearing shoes he will also be a little bit taller!):

Here are some others suggestions (I particularly love the RSVP Sadie on Zappos):

Good luck!

Whatever I do, I’ll still be an inch taller than him. And he likes me being tall and glam. So I’m just wearing heels (but slightly shorter than my 4″ favs!).

My fiance is maybe 0.5-1 inches taller. Typically he doesn’t care if I throw on my 4+ inch heels and tower over him, but when I asked him he requested that he get to be taller than me on the wedding day — it was so cute, I couldn’t say no.

Does you Fiance care if you’re taller than the ceremony? With his shoes you’ll probably on be about an inch taller (and you can get him some well-heeled dress shoes. Then you can kick the shoes off for photos.

I am 4 inches taller than Fiance, and I wear heels all the time. I ended up getting the heels I loved (3 inches) for our wedding. I will wear flats for the ceremony because it is on a beach, but I will be in the heels the rest of the day.

We are having a similar issue, but ours is more an issue of finances.

My dress has a scalloped hem, and is about three inches too long at least. Since I am 5’6 and a half, it’s possible for me to get heels of a height where I would not have to hem the dress, but Fiance is just shy of  5’10 and I will tower over him.

So I have explained the situation to him–that I would be taller. Or if I wore short heels, they would have to alter the hem by taking the entire skirt off the bodice of the dress, and alter every layer of dress, then reassemble. When I explained about how much that would cost, he agreed to wear what are called elevator shoes–it’s a man’s dress shoe with a slight platform (not noticeable). His agreeing to take one for the team will end up saving us at least $300.

I think people will assume your hair/veil are just making you look taller!

Go for the heels!

Well… If he wears dress shoes that will give him two extra inches on his heighope something to consider

Kdiaz824 :  hi I absolutely loved your shoes! I was looking for coral shoes myself. Can you tell me where you bought these?
