Sorry, too much skin. I’m not a big fan of the off-the-shoulder sleeves either. But love the skirt! What about something like this from BHLDN? http://www.bhldn.com/bride/brody-top

It’s also a lace crop top, but with more coverage. You would still be able to see a peek of skin between the top and your skirt, and skin through the lace. I think it would look more elegant but keep the look you are going for. If you want something cheaper, you could try a lace overlay like this, with a white silk cami underneath: http://www.bhldn.com/bride-bridal-separates/savannah-topper/productOptionIDS/fbcaeb8b-b90b-4e9a-9313-32da085940dd

I love it- the whiteness, the lace, the fit, everything. Grey and white look crisp, modern and fabulous together, although it won’t be everyone’s taste. If you loved it, I’d say to wear it. However, as you are a little unsure and possibly uncomfortable, it sounds like you need a better option for you. I think as much as I love it too, I’d probably have the same concerns as you and go slightly more conservative. I don’t like your second option as it’s too casual. A lot of the tops suggested on here by other posters are too baggy on the waist and won’t flatter you with this skirt. What you need is a longer version of what you already have, or a plain corset of some kind. It is quite a showstopper of a skirt so I wouldn’t sell the whole look short with a cheap top. Doesn’t the designer (Hayley Paige??) make a top- can you ask?

Crop tops are really making a comeback, but they are a trend.  I think it is a bit unappropriate for a wedding, and I think it will look dated even in a year or 2.  If you love that top and so does your Fiance maybe wear it for the reception and have a longer one made for the ceremony?

The skirt is so beautiful!

To be honest I would go with a very simple white top. The skirt should be the focus.

I absolutely adore the skirt! My goodness…

Not sure if it’s going to work, but would you consider getting a thick belt? It could help with the amount of skin and keeping your skirt from dropping too much when you move around.

(How comfortable you’d be with a belt against your skin, though. Or how well it should go with the already very contrasting colours of your outfit…? But hey, it’s a suggestion!)

Is that HP? The skirt looks just like Dori. Have you checked whether she makes separates? Maybe there’s a top that’s made for that skirt.

I agree with PPs who say that the top in your pic shows a little too much midriff. It looks great on you, but not very bridal or something I’d want to wear in front of my grandma.

If I were you, I would probably wear this for the reception if my man really liked the look.

You changed your username! I was confused.

Definitively try BHLDN.

Agree that it’s too much skin for my opinion.  Not sure if anyone else suggested this but what if you just wear that top to the reception? And find one with more coverage for the ceremony

clairebbbear:  I thought that one also looked like something she’d like considering her current pick.  She can dye it to any custom color, so I’m sure she could make it work for the OP’s skirt.

She has been EXTREMELY responsive to my messages.  Very quick and very personable. Hopefully the OP takes a look!

The only part I don’t like is that they’re different colors. It makes it known that they aren’t made to go together. Other than that, I think it’s so cute! I would totally wear it (if everything was the same color). The style is awesome. I picture it worn with a real loose updo & a flower in your hair.

banjoream:  what about looking for a body suit in the same style as the top of that dress? The skirt is lilac colored right?

My 2 cents…. I love it! I think you look amazin! I love how different it is and I think the fact that your fiancé was so in love with it, is even sweeter! I think with the right accessories etc it would be fabulou! To me I get a Boho feel with that top! It would be amazing with a muted crown of flower. Im thinking big! I just adore it! I don’t even mind that they are different colours! I’m kinda jealou! I would’ve rocked that!!!! I think you should!
