I read both wedding as well as pregnancy posts. I’m not pregnant and nor am I intending on getting pregnant anytime in the near future, but it’s of interest.
Can someone do me a favor and provide a mini-dictionary or explanation for all the little acronyms used on here? I feel like I get half-way through a post and I’m reading another language and have no clue what’s going on.
Here’s what I get:
SO: Significant Other
TTC: Trying to Conceive
PP: Previous Post(er)?
Other than those three I have absolutely no clue. Help!

Well doesn’t that make sense, I was trying to turn it into two words. I understood that it meant Fiance and I would use it, but didn’t actually know what the “I” stood for.
Feeling dumb. Ha.

I figured out OP the other day, but always thought DH was “darling husband” which sounds ridiculous.
What about all the pregnancy ones?
Oh maybe it is “darling husband”! Ha.

POAS – Pee On A Stick (def: to take a pregnancy test)

POAS – pee on a stick. This can refer to either a home pregnancy test (HPT) or ovulation predictor. These often come with more than one in a box and are called ovulation predictor kits (OPKs).
TTC – Trying to conceive
LH – Lutenizing hormomone (I don’t think that’s spelled right). This is the horomone that predicts (but doesn’t neccessarily confirm) ovulation
BBT – Basal body temperature. Your lowest temperature of the day. Taken right after you wake up from at least 3 hours sleep and without eating/drinking/going to the bathroom.

There is a list of the vast majority of the acronyms you run across already on the wiki!

Well isn’t that helpful?!?! Ha. Thanks!!

Lol. We actually say darling in our everyday conversation. Maybe we are ridiculous! 😉

Isn’t Fiance Future Intended rather than Fiance?
I guess it depends on how people think of it. I always thought of it as fiance since I’ve never used the phrase future intended before.
