Fiance originally proposed with a beautiful white saphhire/black diamond ring that I loved. However, over the last two years the ring has become about 2 sizes too big. I’ve also worn through the rodium plating, which is so NOT wonderful for my nickel allergy. Fiance said he’d look for options on resizing and replating, though I warned him I’d likely burn through the rodium plating pretty quick and we’d have to get it replated a lot. I was also worried about the black diamonds on the side, since the ring would need to be resized. Anyway. So not important to the story.
Tonight FI gets home from running errands and he’s got that look on his face– the one where he has a secret that he both wants to keep from me and wants to tell me. So I follow him into the bedroom and am all “What’s up?” because he’s giggling like a dang schoolgirl at this point…
…when he promptly drops to one knee, breaks out a blue velvet box, and asks me to marry him all over again. Of course, I burst into tears and sob “Yes, duh! We just paid all the vendors!” And then he opens the box, and I see my dream ring– yellow gold bypass setting (eng200) with a radiant cut FB moissanite. And matching petite wedding band. I. Die.
Sorry for the blurry camera-phone pics, the crap manicure, and FI’s foot making a guest appearance. I DON’T CARE BECAUSE THE SPARKLE IS SO PRETTY! 😀
We still have my original ring and hope to reset the stones in a pendant or something for our future kids. Only four weeks until I get to wear the whole set together, forever! 🙂

What an awesome surprise! Your ring is beautiful, and it look fabulous on your hand!! I love how thin each of the bands are. I’ve never seen a bypass setting before, it’s so unique.
Off topic: I love your nailpolish! Mind sharing the color?

@This Time Round: Thanks! He is most definitely a keeper…only took us nine years to figure it out. 😉
@Pepperwoodsy: Thank you! I love the bypass too, and I love that it’s different than most of the rings that my friends/family have. Oh! The polish is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Formula (or…whichever bottle has the word “Salon” on it) in Commander in Chic. Don’t let the raggedy tips fool you– I’ve had it on for about a week and just got done doing a load of dishes.

By The Way, I never heard of the term “Bypass Setting” before this post… so I learned something new today.
(Take it that means the diamonds alternate… down on one side, and up on the other across the band)
