I am sitting here with Fiance and asked him and he just said white with chocolate sprinkles.  I think that means he has no opinion.

I was told nothing too poofy. He said ” you know those ones where the poof starts right underneath the boobs”….

I got some ideas of what my fiance liked before I went, but I made sure to stick true to what I really wanted.  Luckily we both were on the same page about what I should wear ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d recommend eating a small meal before you go so you’re not distracted by hunger, but you’re also not bogged down with a food baby.

As for what to bring:  a hair tie, heels, and wear decent but not skimpy underwear.

Lol, I didn’t even think about asking mine what he would like to see me in!  I just wanted to find the dress that I felt perfect in… I know that he will love it as long as I do ๐Ÿ™‚

All Fiance has said is not too poufy, and white, diamond white, ivory, or something of that nature (to which he proudly remarked that he indeed knew the difference, lol). He says as long as I’m happy, and I get what I want, then it’s all good.

My fiance wants a long white dress, not poofy, not baggy, tight fitting, and with a slit. I will take it all into consideration, but at the end of the day its what I want!!

Fiance said no poofy – and for the longest time, I’d comment on all the different dresses I’d see on TV to see if I could figure out what he liked or didn’t like.  IT DROVE ME INSANE!!!

My advice – stop asking (even though, I know it’s ridiculous – since the ONE person you want to love to dress is him (and you!)) ๐Ÿ™‚

After it was all said and done – he was most happy that I was happy in it (even though I had massive 2nd thoughts about the dress) AND he loved it.

As for dress shopping:  do your makeup! and hair – if it helps you feel good.  I think it makes a difference with how you feel when you are looking at yourself.  Ask (beg/plead) with shops to take pictures of the dress.  I had some ‘maybe’ choices that were definite ‘no’s’ once I saw a picture of myself in it.  Don’t stress out if you don’t find ‘the one’ immediately.  And, try EVERYTHING on – even things you think you’ll hate.  You’ll start ruling things out as you go – but, you’ll never know unless you try.

My Fiance loves the sexy mermaid dresses and isn’t a fan of the poof. I tried the mermaid style..but they just didn’t look great on me. I ended up going with a slight A-line…still a little sexy..I know he will love it!!

I took Fiance dress shopping and dress fitting with me. I need someone to bounce ideas with. He and I have similar taste/style in clothing so I value his opinions. If something looks bad on me, he would tell me. However, the final decision is mine to make. If I don’t like his opinion, I’d veto it. LoL. As for what to wear, I wore strapless bras so that I won’t have to use the one at the store. Also, don’t wear thongs if you’re self conscious, the sale people will be in the dressing room helping you with your dress. As for eating, I ate normal, I want to see how I look when I’m full (if my stomach stick out when I have food). My stomach do stick out more in some dresses compare to others.

My Fiance went with me (actually it was just the two of us) for my dress shopping.  He didn’t really say he what he liked (as far as poofy, sparkly, etc)….I think he just judged based sorely on my expression – which is one of the reasons I love him.  He can read me! ๐Ÿ™‚  Anyway, he will think you look great no matter what!  That’s why you’re his bride!

Fiance has a very big opinion about dresses, lol.  so big, he wants to do the preliminary dress shopping with me.  basically, if i had to sum it up, he likes simple, no frills or fuss.  that means no/minimal beading, no allover lace, no ballgowns, no tulle, no “pouf” in general, no embroidery, no pickups.  he’s also said he doesn’t want me to look like “a cupcake” which is i guess where the pickups and ballgowns come in, lol.  altho, i think it would be hard for me to look like a cupcake at 5’8, but i’m not a big fan of ballgowns either so it works out.  so far, his favorite gowns have been satin or taffeta and most of the detail has been in the draping/ruching and the cut of the dress itself.  our tastes seem to overlap quite nicely on this one.

@Natalieh86: LMAO!!!

I asked my FI’s opinion, and to be honest I asked because I thought he wouldn’t really have an opinion and was trying to be nice…..damn, was I wrong!  Actually I am glad I did ask him because I was able to find a dress that we both love!

As for what not to eat before the dress shopping….. hmm… did you see the movie “Bridesmaids” – stay away from sketchy restaurants before your appointment! And just make sure you are aware of the underwear you are wearing… I made the mistake of wearing red mickey mouse underwear (it was laundry day, I swear!!!) so I think my bridal consultant had a good laugh over that!
