I’d get an inexpensive everyday band and ask my sweetheart to humor me for the wedding ceremony and then leave it in the jewelry box beginning the next day, as he chooses. Just my $0.02.

Since the thread is bumped, I’m curious if your hubs ever changed his mind. 😉

wheels30:  Ditto what NFLWidow said. Just get a cheap one for the ceremony. Surely he can stand to wear one for the service/ceremony. My DH doesn’t wear his and it’s not a big deal, but he does wear it on special occasions.

Brooke1226:  yes. -__-

my Fiance doesn’t “do” jewlery either (although he has not EVER taken off a stainless rope chain i got him when we first started dating like 2 years ago) Fiance wants to get a tattoo on his ring finger instead. (he’s got tons of tattoos, i have zero haha) i’m not really havin’ it… tattoo is great and all, but since i don’t think i plan to get one, it kind of doesn’t have any significance. it won’t be the ring we exchanged on our wedding day!

i am working on a compromise, he wears his wedding band for the first 6-8 months and if he can’t get used to it and it bothers him, then we can talk about an alternative. but at least when we FIRST get married, i want to get to enjoy seeing him with a wedding band. i told him to imagine if i just wore my engagement ring the day he proposed then put it in a box forever… he didn’t care for the thought of that hah.

Brooke1226:  My husband was apprehensive about buying a men’s wedding ring because he does not like jewelry on men and was worried it would annoy him. [Neither of our Dads wear wedding bands, so I didn’t think too much about it.] We looked at a bunch of men’s bands, and he scowled at most of them, LOL. But, we eneded up going with a very simple flat men’s band made with palladium, and he loves it. It’s not shiny or flashy at all, and he says it’s comfortable to wear. He gets a ton of compliments on it 🙂

EDITED: I did not realize how old this thread is when I wrote this. Whoops 😉

If it was men, I wouldnt care if he doesn’t ‘do’ jewelry. This isn’t just jewelry so yeah, I would have a huge problem with it. To be honest, it might even be a deal breaker for me.
