thicknette30:  I have a sapphire and diamond ring that is vintage (and avoids the whole debeers thing) from However, having shopped for something similar I know your budget is limited and 2K is more feasible. If your Boyfriend or Best Friend doesn’t understand this is what things cost, and this is what you want it sounds like you have a fundemental disagreement about money. Perhaps it is that this is jewelery? But it sounds like your e-ring is really important to you and you are making consessions (ie no diamond as a main stone). You shouldn’t have to give up everything you want in an e-ring and should really let him know what your criteria is and make him go shopping with you.

thicknette30:  sounds great, I love the one you picked out! House is important. My comment is a little harsh, I judt know girls who got crazy small diamonds and I just cringe when people ask to see it cuz they have to defend it everytime, at least in there own mind. Congrats!

thicknette30:  It’s actually totally possible. My fiance had my ring custom made – natural sapphire, 14K white gold, diamond halo – from a reputable jewler, for around that price. It appraised for higher but he only paid around $1300.
