Bees, I need help! The journey of finding my perfect wedding dress has been pretty crazy. I’ve already purchased 2 wedding dresses, had dress regret on the first one, and then after finding one that I was finally happy with, my fiancé accidentally saw a picture of me in the new dress (nobody’s fault, just bad timing). So now that he knows what my dress looks like, I’m not sure what to do! Should I wear it anyway? Or buy a third dress? I’m not superstitious (we’re doing pics before the ceremony), but I want the wow moment of him seeing me for the first time on our wedding day. Money isn’t a huge factor, but it does feel like a bit of a waste. And I can sell any dress I don’t wear…. hopefully. What would you do if you were in this situation?
FYI, some pics of my aforementioned dress along with some dresses I’m thinking about replacing it with in a different silhouette. Based on my last thread, the majority of you voted I should wear a ball gown. So that’s what I looked at.
The dress I purchased and still love (Maggie sottero Lacey)
Dress #2 Hayley Paige Guindon (but with no stripes)
Dress#3 Watters corset and skirt set (but in ivory, not blush)
Dress #4 Watters 5073B

Girl, stop buying dresses!
Try not to use your fiance seeing a pic of you in your dress as an excuse to keep buying more. 4 dresses? That’s just wasteful.
You will look totally different on your wedding day with full hair, makeup, jewelry, veil, shoes, and so on!

thegoods: wear the damn dress. I’ve told this story before but my Fiance saw multiple pics of me in my dress (not on purpose). When I ask him what it looks like he stared at me blankly and said it’s white! lol.. do not buy another dress just for that reason – unless he’s super metro, men do not remember that kind of stuff
and P.S – it feels like a waste because it is one!

The first dress looks so beautiful! I’m sure he will try to put it out of his mind because of how important it is to you. I agree with PP as well. You’ll be different on your wedding day and again, I’m sure he will think you are stunning and perfect and he will be so surprised/happy to see you, even if he has seen the dress.

Wear the dress. You’ll look completely different anyway with your hair and makeup looking perfect. Guys are guys; they don’t remember details.
I gave my Fiance a quick peek at my picture in the dress as soon as I got home from buying it. He got one look so I could gauge his impression, because at the end of the day, his opinion of my dress is the only one that matters to me. Besides, I’ll bet if I asked him to describe it now, all he’d be able to come up with is, “It’s white.” (It’s ivory, lol.)

So now u get him to “accidentally” see u in a few other dresses between now and the wedding.
He won’t know which one…and he won’t remember.

I think dress #1 is the prettiest and the most flattering. Dress #2 does not do as much for your figure, so if you do go with another dress, I’d pick anything over the second one.
And he’s a guy, he’s not going to be able to tell between two white wedding dresses anyway!

thegoods: I am sorry but get a grip, instead spending way more money than you have to quit worrying. He isn’t going to remember what you look like from a crap cell phone picture to the day of you in real time all dressed up to your finest. It isn’t that big of a deal

PinkPearls: MeandMyLouboutins: hotteatherapy: spbee: Bridey77: madmaxshannah: CaitlinAthena: Thank you for the opinions! It’s hard for me to fully grasp that he may actually forget what he saw, because I know that the image would be burned in my mind if it was me. He’s definitely not metro, so you are probably right. I need to try not to worry so much.
smoocherific: This is genius. I should make him look at every dress I tried on to make certain he’s super confused! XD

Like other PP, I have to agree men will probably not remember the picture he saw. I mean most of the time they don’t even realize when we get our haircut! lol.
I think you’re trying on too many dresses. The more dresses you try the more you will get confused. Take a step back and remember why you chose the dress that you chose. Seems like from your other posts you are continuing to try on dresses even though you have bought one. Once you find one you should stop. There are hundreds of dresses out there and if you continue to shop you’ll continue to find something you’ll like.
Anyways, compared to all the pictures you posted the one you bought shows off your lovely body so rock it! 🙂

I’m just curious, which is the first dress you bought, then had regret, and which is the dress he saw you in?
I like dress #4 the best.
I think the best solution is to show him a random pic of you in a different dress every few weeks. He will never remember.

amandajane4949: I don’t know about showing him pictures of her in other dresses. She’s already dealt with dress regret. What if he’s trying to be sweet and says something like he really likes one of the ones she DIDN’T pick? Just could be risky.
All she has to do is start asking for his opinion on other items… cake toppers, invitations, flowers, bridemaids dresses, ANYTHING except the dress. It’ll be so far removed from his memory, he’ll forgot he saw the picture. My fiance couldn’t tell you what I wore 2 days ago. No way her groom’s reaction on the wedding day is spoiled since she hasn’t had pictures of her all dolled up and in the dress.

I just bought a second dress so I understand regret. But honestly, I would stick with the Hayley Paige. It’s gorgeous! And me and Fiance were just talking about this over dinner, he said that he’s already forgot what my dress looked like and then he said “but it’s one thing to see it in pictures and compltely different when I see it on you in person!”.. So I would stick with Hayley and stop looking!
