My fiance is a surgeon, so he will have to take off his ring often during the day (high chance of losing it). One of his colleagues bought several stainless steel rings (all under 10 dollars each) and so if he loses one, no big deal. My fiance likes a platinum ring that costs about 2000 dollars, but is considering this. I like the money saving option, but don’t like the idea of “oh well” if he loses a “wedding ring.” Possible options: nice ring with a few cheap ones (but sometimes might forget to switch and could still lose it), or having the wedding day ring set apart and saved, so he will never lose that one. Thoughts?

Can he wear his ring on a chain around his neck? I worked right outside of the ER long ago and most of the staff that were married tied the rings to the ties on the scrubs (I guess you can’t forget it when you’re taking them off).

He hates necklaces, and I could totally see him forgetting them in his scrub tie.

Can he wear one of the cheap rings to work and the expensive ring at home or when he isn’t working?

i know someone who had 2: a nice official one for ceremonies and when he gets dressed up, and one that they could go “oh well” if he lost it or it got screwed up (he works with chemicals)

Insure your ring against loss. That way if he loses it, you can get another one.
