I was reading a blog post about this on “clumps of mascara”(the name of the blog) and she says the L’oreal double extend mascara is an inexpensive copy of this. I got it (the L’Oreal) earlier this week, and it IS awesome.

Thanks! I hate the black that gets under my eyes, so maybe I’ll splurge and get some.

What about Maybelline’s FALSIES mascara? I’ve read on other blogs that it is another alternative to the FIBERWIG. Looking for cheaper alternatives. Maybe I’ll check out that L’oreal one too.

@CorgiTales: thanks for the tip! I was almost dead set on getting the FALSIES this weekend. Glad I stumbled upon this posting. I will follow the rest of the morning to see if anyone else chimes in. Maybe I will try the L’Oreal one then.

@pb and j: OK – so you are saying the FIBERWIG gives length and voulme PLUS is smudgeproof? I really want the false eyelash look, but using my real lashes.

Does the Fiberwig hold up to crying?  I’m assuming if the L’oreal is hard to get off it would…I am also trying to come up with my day-of look and was thinking of falsies but am afraid they won’t hold up to crying…

In my experience with the L’Oreal one, it does stand up to crying and water and everything else. I wore it in the ocean and it didn’t come off or smudge. I could go to bed with it and it woke up looking great. I could wash my face and it would stay on! The only way I could ever get it off was in the shower. You have to rub the makeup remover onto your eyelashes and let it sit for a few seconds and then let the water run over your face for a good 1-2 minutes. To do it in a sink would require like 10 minutes of face splashing, and I don’t have that kind of time. lol
