There is pretty clear evidence that circumcision reduces sensation and sexual pleasure. There have been studies of men circumcised later in life who experienced sex before and after and confirmed this. I’ve been in sexual relationships with several circumcised men who upon researching it themselves as adults came to the conclusion that they wish their parents hadn’t had them circumcised. My husband is one of those men…he’s Jewish (albeit completely secular) and after doing his own research decided he definitely doesn’t want it for our (hypothetical) son. If we do have a son, DH’s family would definitely be appalled if we didn’t circumcise, but 🤷♀️ not our problem.

My dad is circumcised but my brother is not. He never had any issues growing up, and, as far as I know, he has no desire to get circumcised (he’s nearly 28).
I do worry about your need to push this topic while you guys are at work, but I agree that if this is a hill to die on, you need couples therapy to decide if you’re compatible.

“To not circumcise in my culture would have social repercussions with my family, with my community and with a future partner of the male child. It’s just a foreskin. Cut it. Leave it… It’s not that big of a deal.”
replace the word male with female and the word foreskin with cliteral hood or outer labia … see where we’re coming from?

This is just an argument now. Closing.
