Sorry for the multiple posts regarding our honeymoon…I have to book this month and we’re having a very hard choosing what to do.
My last post about Australia most bees were saying that I really need more time in Australia than 5 days…and then I started reading about all of the ridiculously awesome things to do there (Witsunday’s, skydiving over mission beach, great barrier reef, sydney….)
Currently we have two flights going to Nadi, Fiji so we have to go there regardless of how long we spend there….orginially we had planned to cruise the Yasawas for a week and then head to Australia for 5 days…
Now I am so torn!! Should we spend the majority of our time in Fiji cruising the Yaswawa islands or touring around Australia?
Vote! Pleae help!

I would flip the time, 5 days in the islands and a week in australia 😉

@minipenguin: that’s kind of what i’m thinking now….or just taking 3 weeks off!

@bretonvirgniia: lol, I vote just take more time off. While you’re making the trip over there and for FREE, max out that vacation time over there!
We did 2 weeks in Austrailia and covered Darwin, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Whitsunday and Cairns. It was rushed, but doable. We were pretty happy with our speed tour of each of the places.

Honestly, after the hellish flight, a week is simply not enough either of these places.
But if I had to choose, i’d say Fji. There’s more to do/see in Australia, so you’ll be tempted to squeeze it all in, which will be more stressfull, I think!

@crayfish: that’s true in a way too…we have to fly YYZ-LAX-NAN-SYD 😐
Not that i’m complaining but its going to be pretty full on!

@pinkshoes: that’s what we’re thinking…however Australia is pretty expensive for the hotels and what not. We can’t afford a 5k honeymoon. Hmm

Never been to either, but Fiji seems so much more exotic to me! Would love to go.

Not a fan of Fiji at all.
Australia is amazing, fly to Sydney and see the main sights & beaches then head down to Melbourne & go to some wineries. Or from Sydney head up to Noosa & Byron Bay. So beautiful.

@FauxBoho: thanks! a lot of people are saying fiji is just “meh” now. especially since the recent storm…apparently the water can be pretty murky in some areas. I think the Whistsundays and north/east coat of Australia looks just as nice or nicer than the fiji beaches…

@bretonvirgniia: make sure you go to australia during their summer!

I would pick Fiji… our currently argument is Fiji or Bora Bora.
