I haven’t had to do this and I am very nervous for you about this!  Have you looked around at places where you might need to go for a back up?  Maybe have them on the backburner just in case….

Just want to “bump” this up so more ppl will see it!

Good luck!

What a sucky situation.  You have been way more patient than I would have been.

I agree with med700, start looking at other places to get a dress.  With the wedding so close, I’d imagine you’d have to get a pre-owned one or a sample one.  Better to start looking now, just in case, so you’re not scrambling at the very end.

Hugs 🙁

You’re FAR nicer than I am.  At the 2nd missed shipment date I would have canceled.  I know you want your dress.. but are their any sample sales or trunk shows in your area.  The longer you wait the more stressful it will be to get a dress on time.  I would move on at this point…for your OWN sanity.  What is the type of dress you want?  Are there any ones that are similar that you can get off the rack?

Have you gone past the 45 days in paypal?

Etsy does have a “dispute” function, but it is no where near as clear cut and helpful as places such as ebay.

If you are getting close to 45 days I would dispute it ASAP and if they wont help, go to PayPal.

If its longer than that, I am not sure how long your seller makes dresses, but she may be trying to get you over the second time limit, which it for feedback. You only have 120 days to leave feedback, and if she leads you on past that you have no way of telling others.

@ohheavenlyday: The thing I find weird about all this is that she hasn’t sent pictures. Doesn’t she promise pictures of the progress on the dress when she’s explaining her services? She did when I contacted her about the prospect of getting a dress made. That makes me think the dress is in a far worse state than she claims. Even if she has some finishing touches to put on it, why hasn’t she taken pics of the dress if she has nothing to hide?

I would demand pictures of the dress NOW so at least you can see the state that the dress is in. If she doesn’t send them within, say, 6 hours, I would cancel the order for a full refundif you can, say it’s too late and you’ve been forced to get another dress and that if she doesn’t give you a full refund, you’re contacting Etsy and your credit card company. Have you seen the thread on Church Street Bridal (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/found-a-designer-gold-mine-today-lots-of-pics-inside)? You can get a designer sample for under $500 and you will receive your dress within a week after you order it. I’m sorry you’re going through this, what a nightmare!

@ohheavenlyday: But has she sent you pictures?? I don’t buy it. If she hasn’t sent you pictures, I would doubt very much that the dress is done, or even close to being done. It’s not like the strike prevents her from using her camera. Unless she sends you pictures of the dress NOW and it seems to be in perfect condition, I really think you should put your foot down now and demand a refund.

@ohheavenlyday: Did she send you pictures? I am so sorry this is happening to you! I hope it works out, I haven’t had this problem with wedding stuff but I did have issues with an etsy seller in the past and I made a complaint, in the end the seller never refunded my money and the shop was shut down.

I certainly hope that this is not the case for you (and in my situation it was not too much money so I didn’t take it any further than with etsy), and think due to the cost that hopefully you can get ALL of your money back if needed, and hopefully it doesn’t need to happen! Sending you good dress vibes and hoping you get it by Wed.

ETA: sorry just saw the picture update!
