We told my FI’s parents before they could even offer that we were paying for the whole she-bang.

My FI’s father’s contribution is the rehearsal dinner.  His parents are divorced – his mom isn’t able to contribute.

My in-laws paid for the whole thing.  And they went all out.  They had wanted to help with the wedding buy my dad was having none of that so they really went to town on the rehersal dinner which we loved!  I’ll take two fancy parties in a row any day!

They have not yet, but they are going to pay to have the whole dinner catered.

Well I figured his parents would do the rehearsal dinner. And then they decided to cater the actual wedding. So now I’m confused if they are going to do both or not. They love to cater so it will probably be both. And I feel weird about asking them if my parents should pitch in or not. I don’t want  them to be offended either way.

My in-laws (and my parents) did not pay anything for the wedding. My Mother-In-Law is widowed and is going through hard times now, so we paid for her travel/hotel at the wedding.

My inlaws threw and paid for the Rehearsal Dinner. They also paid for our alcohol.
