I have my final dress fitting the day after Thanksgiving. I’ve not yet had a hair trial, so I am planning to schedule one for the same weekend (I’m out of state).
I haven’t picked up my veil yet (same place as dress), but it will be ready before Thanksgiving.
The practical side of me thinks I should get the veil, have the hair trial then go for the final fitting (I’d really see the whole picture), but the romantic side of me thinks I (and my bm and grandma) shouldn’t see the ‘whole package’ until the day of.
I should also mention that getting the veil before the hair trial would mean I would have to ask a family member to drive 2 hours round trip to pick it up (I live out of state), so it isn’t entirely practical.
Also, I have a big, snap-happy italian family. If bm and grandma see the whole package, there will be pictures, so pretty much everyone else will see it too (except Fiance, of course).
What do you bees think?

do the hair trial later. it’s a special moment when you see everything together!

I’d have the veil sent to me, then go for the hair trial and final fitting alone. That way no one will see it altogether escept you. Easy!

@ItWasntMe: someone’s got to learn to bustle. And the shop is owned by an italian family, my grandma is italian and never gets to speak italian to nonfamily, and she picked the dress and loved the experience. So, bm and grandma have to go.
I did consider having them mail the veil, but I don’t want it to get messed up or wrinkled. Any experiences with this?

Both my daughter’s veils were mailed and came with directions on how to fluff them before wearing. Not a big deal.
I forgot about the bustle, but most of them are pretty simple to do. Maybe make your Gram and Bridesmaid or Best Man promise no pictures that day?
