I found an amazing seamstress to do the alterations for my dress. It only took a week and a couple of days; great news since my wedding is in 11 days!! (Woo hoo!!)
Anyway, she took 3 inches from the waist, hemmed the front of the dress (which required removing and replacing the lace appliques), and added a one-point overbustle. I am absolutely in love with my dress and the work she did! It looks amazing and fits like a glove. I can’t wait to wear my dress!
Here are some pictures. First note: the ones I didn’t take myself were taken by my 8 year old daughter. 🙂 Second note: I’m not wearing the lace cap sleeves in these pictures, but I *will* be wearing them the entire time of the wedding and reception. That’s half the reason I love the dress so much! The seamstress had just taken the sleeves off for the alterations (they are detachable) and we didn’t bother to button them back in for today’s fitting.

I was wondering where the little cover/sleeves went! That is my favorite part of your dress:) Then I read the whole post. You look gorgeous!!!

I love it! And your daughter is adorable.
One note–since you have a one-point bustle, make sure it is double-anchored. that is not a lot of support for a skirt with that volume. If you ever read the “regret” posts, there are a lot of comments about bustles breaking.

It’s just gorgeous, and I don’t say that about every dress.
