- Wedding: February 2016
I’ve been in it for the long haul with this one at almost 8 years already – he proposed on Friday! We went out on our boat and watched the sun set and the stars come out, it was such a beautiful night. Our boat has had some outdrive issues, so he totally faked me out by saying I needed to look in the glove box for a tool so he can fix something having to do with outdrive oil knowing I don’t have a clue about mechanics. He told me to look for the brown box, the mechanic left it in a box. I pulled out the ring box like “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!” I was speechless. I think he was disappointed that I didn’t notice he changed the song to stream a Marry Me one. Regardless, it was a wonderful day and I’m extemely happy.
I picked out the ring, but it was one of three I had my eye on. It was sold as a 1.1 carat G color oval in a .50 carat Venetti setting sized to an 8 to give my hands room to swell. I told then-BF to ask about certs, only to be sure he got a fair price. I have no idea if he did, but I do have to get an appraisal to get it insured. I don’t really care about the specs because I think it’s beautiful. Now that I have it, I wish it had a little less of a space around the halo, but honestly it doesn’t bother me that much to even mention it. I waited for a long time and he worked so hard to buy it for me.
Sorry to ramble, but does anyone feel like it’s next to impossible to get a picture that does their ring justice? This thing throws so much fire it’s amazing 🙂
Please excuse the ratchet nails in some of the pictures – throwing that damn boat anchor has made my hands/nails so gross
