So we’re engaged!!!! I have imgained how it would happen 10458634958 of different ways and I was still so surprised! So here is how it happened and pictures.
We were just hanging out around the house on a Sunday afternoon and I was laying on the couch about to take a nap (mind you I was still in my pajamas and hadn’t even brushed my hair yet that day!) and he was off in the garage. I just assumed he was cleaning his car since he is obsessed with it. Well next thing I know our two dogs (AKA fur babies) come running into the living room with two signs around their necks that say “Will you marry us?” I went into shock! I couldn’t believe it was happening!! He walked over and gave his speech saying how I was his best friend and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. The speech was my favorite part because he is so stoic about his emotions (Thanks Army…) so he doesn’t really talk to me about how much he cares.
It’s the exact setting we picked out, but the stone is bigger than I expected (yay! now I know why I had to wait so long…) Blue Nile cathedral petite pave setting, 14K white gold, 1.1 ct round center stone
We are just so excited!!! Is it normal that I am not ready to start planning yet though? Wedding planning seems so overwhelming!!!!

Congrats! Cute story with the dogs! And yes, it’s normal to not want to start planning right away. I was the same way. My advice, take at least a month to just enjoy being engaged. Talk about your dreams for the wedding, but don’t start looking! I was so stressed out the first time I looked at venues. Relax and enjoy your first few weeks of being engaged!

@mrssouthpaw: I know what you mean, I’d have another. Our two are brothers. Ours aren’t too stubborn, they’re very obedient but they do know what they want

@mrssouthpaw: Congratulations!! And yes, it’s normal. Try and just soak it all in and enjoy this “just engaged” time. There’s nothing in the world like it… I guess except for the “just got married” time…. haha

Gorgeous ring, and love the proposal 🙂 Congrats!! And no, I definitely didn’t want to start planning right away either (and now I’ve given up on planning altogether and plan to elope!! Haha)

@Krpink: Thank you for the affirmation! yes the cost of venues in Austin is insane so I started to panic a little, but I am just going to take my time and wait until we have the “budget” talk with our families to see what we can even afford
