Hello lovely bees,
My girlfriend and I exchanged rings three weeks ago and I am finally posting the story and pictures! We knew we were going to do this on our annivesary, but it was still so emotional and exciting! I wanted to do something a little bit special w/o going over the top, so I browsed on etsy and finally ordered a cheese knife engraved with “Will You Marry Me?” because she *loves* cheese and we eat it all the time, so I thought I could just swap it out with our regular knife and that is exactly what I did!! On our way out for drinks to celebrate our anniversary (to the same place we went on our first date :)), I suggested we have some cheese and crackers (totally normal for us) and waited until she turned to give the dog a treat, then switched the knives! She came back and *finally* noticed it. Then, she promptly cried 🙂 She thought we were going to jointly propose at the place we were heading but nope — I thought it would be better to do it at home in the kitchen, where we spend the majority of our time 🙂 I read her a speech I had prepared detailing the important points in our shared history and presented her with the ring (she had seen it even before she met me, and I knew it was the one she wanted). Then, she handed me a card she had written (so sweet) and pulled out my ring 🙂 It’s an heirloom stone from her grandmother that we had reset into a simple solitaire. We texted all our friends, then went out to celebrate! It was perfect! And now, the ring porn:
Mine (3/4 carat diamond on platinum band):
Hers (a champagne citrine with diamond bezel):
And, last but not least, the knife 🙂
Whoa, that was long! Thanks for reading, bees!!!
