I’d have Fiance call once more and make a drop dead date – if you can’t provide them in hand by noon on Friday, then we’ll order ourselves.  Then when he doesn’t deliver, you have 5 hours to take it to some other place (research now) and can start addressing this weekend.

Sorry hun!  My only friendor offered to do favors as a wedding present and she’s super on top of things (plus makes the world’s best caramels).  So I trust that it’ll get done (but in the end, it’s a favor, so if it didn’t happen, not the end of the world).  I can’t imagine having to deal with a flaky friend for such an important item!

@MississippiQueen:  Yes, that’s why you get Fiance to set the deadlines with you, so he buys into them.  (Or so studies show!)  Say to him: you need to mail out invitations between 6-10 weeks.  If we mail at week 7, we need to stuff envelopes on X day, address them on these two days, so we need to have them picked up from the printers by X date.  Printers need x days to print, don’t forget weekends.  So we need to submit by this date.  Can you agree with me that if friendor doesn’t give us the printed invites by friday noon that we will pay $X for them ourselves instead?  If he says no, then ask him why & how he will handle it, with the explicit understanding 7 weeks (or whatever) is non-negotiable.

ETA: It’s ironic, the friendor I mentioned above, she just sent me a picture of all the wrapped boxes…just as she told me when she grocery shopped for the caramels and when she started making them.  Explain to Fiance it’s not a gift if it causes you more stress.

You are MUCH more patient than me. I probably would have already sent him a nice handwritten note that said something like ‘you’re a piece of shit, you can stop pretending you’re working on our gift now.  And please don’t call my husband you giant waste of space.’  Ahem….I may be exagerating because I have PMS.  Maybe.

I have a friendor that has done a kick ass job on my favors, and another friendor doing my music.  But it’s a balance, my Maid/Matron of Honor is totally flaky.  So, there’s that.

OP…you have the patience of an angel….

I would have had it with that “friend” by the genital joke.

@MississippiQueen:  I wish there was a way for you to Yelp them.  This was a free opportunity for word of mouth advertising and he totally just sunk it.  I mean, if this is how they view their development strategy…it’s going to be a long hard road for that ‘business’.

Oooh, I’d be pissed at this point that he didn’t see the difference in what you requested, but I will say that guys just don’t register themes or colors as relevant.  To him, if it says your names, dates and locations, good enough.

I can’t believe what a jerk your fiance is being over this.  His “friend” is a moron who shouldn’t be in business.  Not only can’t he meet deadlines, he can’t even create the product his client asked for.  And, no, he doesn’t get a pass because he was going to do the invites for free.

Your fiance is being a dope for not realizing what his friend designed sucks or not caring that it sucks.  My husband has done graphic design work in the past.  He didn’t create your wedding announcements, but was ALL OVER the ones I was considering to order. He hated the font on one, didn’t care for the colors on another.  He didn’t want us to send something that important out that didn’t look perfect to both of us.

By The Way, I love the invitations you found on Zazzle!
