Hi ladies!! I am so happy…after MUCH searching I finally found the dress for my hometown reception! the 2nd reception is going to be an outdoor casual affair in July, so super hot, but I still want to wear all white with a little bridcage veil and cute shoes. In my head I was picturing a dress in white cotton eyelet, with a great classic bodice, full-ish skirt and something in keeping with my picnic-esque theme. And everything in stores is high-necked, or has a peplum (ugh), or is fitted, or is shapeless, or is made out of a realllly nasty polyester that is icky to wear and hangs funny or was prom-stuff and therefor sequined to high heaven and made for a 15 year old.. So I was totally despairing of finding a dress like the one I pictured in my head. But I went to Neiman Marcus Last Call and found it!! Finally!! When i picked it up off the rack in the store, I literally started shaking, I knew I had found the one!! The designer is Milly, and I scored it for $125 (full price was around $350). Second bridal steal, woot-woot!
I’m thinking of hemming it just a bit, but my mom likes the below-knee length on me, she thinks it is more classy that way. I think it just makes me look short, lol. Also thinking of either making it completely strapless or changing the straps to a halter neck. I plan on doing this up with maybe a belt of some sort and a birdcage veil for fun, as well as my robin eggs blue christian louboutin shoes…
Anywya…what do you all think??
sorry for the crappy iphone photo but its all I have right now.

It’s adorable! An absolutely perfect find for summer! It looks great on you.
I wouldn’t change a thing.

Perfect! It is so cute. I love it. I would add a belt, too. But, that’s just me. I like the length, though. Especially if you have high heels on. Great dress!

Super cute and elegant! I prefer the length as is, but wear heels.

I would try it on with the heels and see what you think about the length. I’m short as well, so I know how a just below the knee dress can be difficult! If you do hem it, it doesn’t need much though. Just that little bit right above the knee instead! I wouldn’t change the straps- they look great!

i think the length is great – just add heels! gorgeous dress 🙂

I like the length! With heels it will make you feel taller (though IMO it doesn’t make you look short at all). I think the length makes it look more bridal 🙂

Thanks everyone!! I showed the dress to my Fiance and he likes it a lot too 🙂 this is the only wedding-related dress he gets to see before the wedding, so I’m glad he approves! I knew it was a true winner when I got home and my mom liked it off the bat, lolol.
