It’s hard to say cause there aren’t pictures of you IN the dress, but it depends I think.. how much is it out of your budget? If it’s double your price.. then maybe not worth it. But then again, if it’s truly the only dress you really ** loved** then it may be worth the splurge. It’s not worth spending less $$ on a wedding dress you’re not in love with and just feel “meh” in. It’s your wedding day and you want to feel amazing.

I made the mistake of getting a dress I “liked” but wasn’t in loooove with it – just because I was tired of dress shopping and felt I was annoying people I brought with me to several places. And every bridal salon kept emphasizing how close I was cutting it to order a dress (10 months before my wedding….) I spent more than I wanted on a dress that wasn’t my dream dress (way more). Now I regret it and wished I would’ve kept looking. So it depends – if you’re comfortable wearing a dress that’s “pretty good” then save the $$ for something more important! If feeling amazing is that important to you, splurge. If you’re on a time crunch, maybe go to a few more places soon just to see and make sure! You’ll probably be able to find something you love that’s in your budget if you look enough!

What’s the budget range you are looking for? I’m sure we can find something that fits that range without sacrificing what you want (ballgown).

You need to go dress shopping within your budget, stop looking at pictures and look at dresses on your body. Keep looking you will find the one you won’t question.

rosemaryandthyme :  If you post your budget, the women here will find you the same dress or a very similar one in your price range. I’m telling you, they work miracles. I had googled EVERYTHING looking for particular charger plates (very intricate and designed) and couldn’t find them. I posted it to the Bee and within 5 minutes, 3 Bees had found the exact one and sent me links.

That’s an Eve of Milady dress if I’m not mistaken. Can you see if you can find anything similar on a preowned wedding dress website?

I’m not sure, but it sounds like you’re a little indecisive and may easily have dress regret. If you’re going to get this one, be very sure it’s the one you want, since going over your budget means you’re stuck with this and no room for regret.

I agree that mermaids don’t feel super bridal to me too πŸ™‚ even though it’s more flattering on me I think

Your choice is really dependent on whether or not you can make room in your wedding budget for the dress. If you can’t make room, then your only options are to keep looking for either a more affordable dress or a preowned version of that dress (granted, it’ll still be a drop waist then).

However, if your budget can get reworked so you can buy the dress, go for it! I wouldn’t worry about spending “too much” on a dress because “too much” is so subjective.

My wedding dress budget started out around $1-2k, but my dream dress was four times that. Fortunately we were able to rework the budget, so I said screw it and bought the dress. Even though it cost a lot more than I had anticipated at the beginning of wedding planning, I don’t have any regrets at all. You can’t help what you like.
