@Miss Suburban: Thank you so much!!!! My fiance proposed with a stone, with the intent of us designing the setting together. It was a total of three appointments: 1- we took in sketches and inspiration and worked with our jeweler to develop a “concept”. Appt 2 – we came in to view a wax carving of the setting and make any tweaks / changes at that point (this was extremely comforting to see it “3D” before we OK’d the design!). Then appt 3: pick up and lots of smiles! While it seemed like forever, the whole process only took about a month!!!

Very unique ring, and it’s awesome that he proposed with the stone and allowed you to have so much input into having your perfect ring 🙂

@WiscoBride: How did you feel with the wax model? It kind of freaked me out a bit…I remember over analyzing every bit of it.
Lovely ring, congrats!

I have a question for ladies who have had a custom ring made. Does it end up being way more expensive then buying a pre made ring? I ask because SO and I are thinking about going with moissanite because the cost of good diamonds is crazy but I fell in love with a setting but dont know about the moissanite stone they put in the ring (no paper with it certifying the stone) so I was thinking of taking a picture of it to someone to duplicate the setting but if its going to end up just as expensive if not more then buying a pre made diamond I might just skip it
