I was going to wait to post this until I had actually picked up the dress and had some photos … but I am so excited that I couldn’t wait! Tonight I will be trying on my dress with alterations for the first time, and (pending any additional alterations) I should be taking it home TONIGHT!
I especially excited because I have my veil (not what I had originally envisioned, but lovely nonetheless) and all of my jewelry and my shoes, so I’ll get to see the whole look together (I’m going to do a mock up of my hair and makeup beforehand).
I’ll be posting photos later — I just hope everything looks good together! I have the HARDEST time envisioning things, so all I can do is cross my fingers and hope it works. And let’s just say that I didn’t exactly play it safe with my jewelry, so this all could be a huge bust.
So excited! Did any of you get to see your whole look put together before the wedding day? Was it everything you expected, or a disappointment?

I was so excited to pick-up my dress (which I did!) that I completely flaked in the moment and forgot to take photos! My coworkers are all ticked at me now and insisting that I get a photo this weekend.
I have to say, it was such a relief to see everything all together! I had no idea how it would look — I mean, I have a lot of stuff going on! Big necklace, earrings, headpiece, veil and a lace gown …. but it looks great! I am so excited to get all dolled up and have partner see me. Plus, my seamstress sold me on something I never would have thought of for myself … I know own a chapel length veil with a blusher. The blusher in particular is so not what I pictured … but it was very pretty, and when she put it down I remembered partner saying when we first got engaged about how he thought the veil was supposed to go over my face so he could lift it. I’d kinda laughed at the time and told him he was old-fashioned, but now I just think about how great it’s going to be to have one since he clearly had always pictured a blusher as a part of a wedding.
I’m rambling now, but it was very overwhelming. Hopefully I will get some photos this weekend to share!
