OMG… after 2.5 years of commuting 2 hours to work each day, I finally got a new job!
It’s with the same company, but in an office that is all of 15 minutes from my house. It’s a tiny pay raise, but since i’m not spending 400+ on gas and tolls each month, it’s like a double bonus raise!. No more getting up at 5:30am and getting home around 7pm. No more having to worry if i’ll get a parking space or not. Its such a relief.
I’m not crazy about the switch so close to the wedding, but the new boss knows about it and understands that I’ll need the time off and stuff. I’m sad to leave my current boss because he’s been so good to me the last few years, but he understands that this is something I need to do.

Woo Hoo ! This will be life changing for you before the wedding! You now have 4 extra hours each day and $400 each month!

I’m so looking forward to that extra hour or two of sleep every day and not having to eat at 730 every night. It’s been so long, I’m not even sure I’m going to know what to do with myself.

@almostmrsc: haha, you will probably feel like you have SO MUCH time now!! I’m sure this will also give you more time to do wedding projects and spend time with the Fiance. Enjoy it!

This is why I’m having a hard time with the choice of moving next year. I’m 5 minutes from my office. I don’t know if I want to move 30 minutes away to find a cheaper and bigger place in another state!

@Miss Tattoo: It’s definitely a hard choice. I was living out in the Boston area for a while and I moved just outside the city, maybe 10 – 15 miles at the most, but because of traffic it took nearly an hour just to drive there. Even taking the train in, was close to an hour every day.
You’d have the consider gas/tolls/commuter options (bus, train, etc) I’m not too familiar with your area, but having more space at a cheaper rate, can be worth if it you don’t spend the difference each month going to work.
