I haven’t done the course, but I sure hope that Mr.ND and I can find one around the time of our wedding. We have slightly different views on finances, so taking a course will help us to see each other’s perspective and find the compromise that works for us.

If you want a sneak peek, check out the book ‘The Total Money Makeover.’ I purchased it as an audio book on iTunes so I can listen to it while I wash dishes or do little DIY wedding tasks, etc. I really like it! (But, admittedly, his methods are generally the track that I already am on, while some of these things may be soooo not Mr.ND’s thing.)

My husband & I read Total Money Makeover!  He had some debt to get rid of from before we met, so we’ve been using the strategies and almost have everything paid off.  I’d definitely recommend it.

I can’t recommend it enough! Darling Husband and I are able to support a family of 10 on one income because of the smart planning we did. Following TMM was the best decision we ever made!

Our church offers these courses every 6 mths or so and we signed up right after we got married. It was by far the best decision we’ve ever made. Darling Husband is very good with money and financially smart and I wasn’t. This course helped us pay down my 17k in student loans in less than year and we are now debt free and it’s the best feeling in the world. I recommend this as often as I can bc it can really help anyone especially couples. Money is not an issue we fight over and I couldn’t be happier bc I’ve seen money and debt destroy marriages in my family. You can only gain from this not lose.

My husband and I took this as part of our pre-marriage counseling and I can’t believe what a difference it made it our lives! I don’t think we were “bad” with money before, but we weren’t making the smartest decisions either. Because of this class we are now debt free and almost have 6 months of expenses in savings. I’m pregnant with our first child now and I can’t tell you the peace of mind I have because of what we have accomplished from what we learned. Like Miss Green said – we’ve never had a money fight since we’ve gotten married – discussions of course – but fighting never. We both know ahead of time what our financial goals are and what we need to do achieve them. It really is a life changing class!

Fiance and I are looking into this. I think we could use some insite, to be able to budget our finances a little better. The church we are getting married at offers courses every so often. We will be taking the next one that opens!

YaY for Dave Ramsey! I’ve done a weekend session of his stuff before. Years ago… it’s great, but I definitely think it’s time for a refresher =)

Darling Husband and I follow the Total Money Makeover and we love it. We’re taking the FPU classes this fall. I’ve only heard good things about it!

We read TMM a few years ago and it helped me get out of debt. We need to reread it and I would love to take FPU!

Bumping this thread rather than starting a new one to see if any other bees had advice/reviews/critiques about the Financial Peace University classes. They are being offered in our new town in about a month, so I’d love to hear some current reviews before we pay for the class and commit our Sunday afternoons for a few months.

I’ve finished listening to The Total Money Makeover audiobook, and my main concern is that I’ll have us spending $90 to just re-hear the book. All experiences and perspectives are welcome, please share honestlof about if you found the classes worthwhile. Thanks!
