Honestly I would forget almost all of this and get yourself to a store and start trying on dresses.  Sure, you can give them some loose guidelines of what you want so that they get you started in the right direction…but don’t go into a bridal salon with a laundry list of “DO NOT” because you still might change your mind once you’re in a dress.

Go tell them “sleek, elegant, no lace” and give them the shape you want..and go from there.

Jenny Yoo bridesmaids come in white. Also check White House Black Market. They have some longer white dresses that could double as formal wear.

BEEelegant :  not Jenny Yoo! Her stuff can double as wedding dresses. I kept a long bridesmaids dress that I got for another wedding as a formal gown option. It’s pretty vercitle in that I can dress it up or down depending on the event. Check her out!

Would you consider a dress like the Pronovias Trisa.  It is a sleevelss bateau neck fit and flare that comes with the option of purchasing a detachable train.  Since you don’t want the train the dress could be purchased without.  The fabric is silk mikado.  http://www.bestbridalprices.com/pronovias-wedding-dresses-style-trisa-p141192

Other designers that might appeal to you are Theia and Badgley Micshka and possibly some of pronovias crepe dresses.

Do you want a sheath silhouette?  The etsy dress that you posted falls into that category and it would be a style with a minimal train.  Maybe ask brides to suggest sheath dresses and designers that specialize in sheaths?
