My biggest concern that you listed is the parking.  All of the other things can be dealt with and compromised on.  But if your guests have no where to easily park that’s going to create a lot of headaches.  Since you are in South Jersey are there any beach clubs that would work?

Is there a school or a church any where close by that would let you use their parking lot and then you could have a shuttle running?  It’s actually not that expensive to rent a shuttle for the evening.

Great!  And also, on the issue of your grandparents concerns about dancing/music/late nights…  What if you offered to put them (and your uncle) up in a near by hotel for the night.  That way they can leave when they want and still have a comfortable night’s sleep.  And you can inlist younger family members to help make sure the place is clean and back to new by the time your grandparents return home the next morning.

Can’t you just have the ceremony outside somewhere and find a spot indoors for the reception? It’s HOT here in July, and you could have a 90 degree day. How far are people willing to travel? I’m not far from you and I know there’s a ton of places around…how about one of the wineries?

@Moose1209: Awesome Idea Moose!! I was going to say the same thing, maybe a shuttle or have a couple vans going back and forth full of people, you could easily as a few responsible relatives to volunteer to do this! I would definitely call the school/church before using it though! (Just in case! Dont want any missing cars!)

As a Budget Bride myself, we had to make MANY compromises for our wedding, but I know its going to be well worth it! Work with your grandparents and come to an agreement! You never know, they might surprise you! And you never know til you ask and the worst they can say is NO and you can go to Plan B!

Best of Luck Lovely Bee!!

What is you had an outdoor ceremony and then went to a hall for the reception? This way you could have the outdoor part (and I can tell you really want that – and I don’t blame you!!) but you could eliminate some of the hassle. Parking won’t be a huge issue because everyone will be leaving at the same time (meaning no one will get boxed in). You don’t have to worry about bathrooms becuase hopefully it’ll be short and sweet so most people won’t need to use them. AND you don’t have to worry about rentals (tables, chairs, linens, silverware, etc etc) since you’ll only be using the space for the ceremony (ok you might need chairs – but thats not too bad).

By outdoor ceremony I meant have the ceremony at your grandparents house, and then move the reception to a hall. Sorry, my post didn’t turn out as clear as I meant it in my head.
