Long story and I don’t really want to get into it on here but I want to try to find a relative who I believe is in California and I have no idea where to start… I tried Google with no success and I’m thinking I’d be willing to pay someone to look but I don’t know what kind of person you would need to hire, what they would need (just a name? ssn? etc.) and how long it takes if they find someone… All I really want to do is send him a letter…
Has anyone found someone successfully? Or have any experience with anything like this?

Also, if anyone knows if this isn’t the right section, please tell me where to put it!

I used to have to track down people for court. You need name, dob, ssn and any last known address information. Knowing their parents addresses wouldn’t hurt.
I keep track of my crazy brother using his ssn. You can hire an PI to search once you have the info. Or pay one of the websites. I use a PI to track my brother, he does it for me for free since I used him so much in the past.
Have you tried Whitepages.com … i found a bunch of people using that too.

You can start with spokeo.com or zabasearch.com.

Tried whitepages, spokeo and zaba with no luck either :-/ Granted, none of them find me with my married name, and I’ve had that for almost 6 months, so I’m guessing I’ll have to go with a PI which means I need to get his ssn… Any idea how much it would cost to have someone just find him to deliver a letter or get a phone number?

Tiny update: I contacted a PI who, for $60, found out where he was 4 months ago and a year ago, but other than that can’t find him because he isn’t using credit cards or renting an apartment… Not looking too good… He said he’ll keep checking to see if there are any updates every two weeks for the next two months but I’m not feeling very hopeful :-/
