@loonybride: My heart is going out to you! How frustrating.  Okay, first off here are my instant thoughts… that “Garland 68” just tells me that just means it’s “red”.  So my thinking is it’s normally sold as a “white” dress but there is an option for the same dress with red accents… so I would check their line of white dresses very closly.  I could be totally wrong, but that is the feeling I get.  How about this… if you have the time, why don’t you make some appointments at some other bridal shops that are in your budget and ask them to bring you all their white and red dresses.  It may take a couple shops, but IMO you may be better off if you can’t get this one to budge.  If you do find it somewhere else, it sounds like it will be a better experience all around for you and find another shop that would be compassionate so you can get a picture to your Mom.  Best of luck to you, I’m still looking for ya! ๐Ÿ™‚

Btw, the bottom of the dress you described can sometimes be referred to as a (bell) shaped bottom, possibly that will help in your search.

@loonybride:  I hope they break down and help you out!  You may even want to call the corporate number even for Essence of Australia and just ask if they make that dress…. you never know ๐Ÿ™‚  Good luck!

So which one is your dress, is it posted here?  Show us the pic! How terrible that you went through this experience.  Any place that wouldn’t let me take pictures was automatically off my list.  I just could NOT make a decision without thinking about it and looking over the pictures.  At a few stores I was almost ready to say yes, but thankfully I had pictures and when I looked at them later I saw them totally differently and didn’t like them.  On the other hand, the places that didn’t let me take pictures – well, I didn’t even remember the dress properly two days later, so how could I pick it, when I had a bunch of other dresses right on my computer from my trials?  I also don’t believe all the crap they feed you about why they won’t allow pictures (you’ll go have it made elsewhere, you’ll go around to other stores to get a better price, etc – a bunch of bull).  I’m sorry to go off like this, but I really hate this practice, and would not give my money or time to any stores like this.  I’m so glad you got the dress you want in the end, but what a shame that you went through this experience.  It’s their loss, because you will never ever recommend them to anyone else.  I know that the place I ended up buying my dress was amazing, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
