- Wedding: September 2013
I have nearly everything planned, worked out and scheduled for my September wedding next year…expect for someone to marry us.
Here’s my problem, I am not a religious person and do not belong to any churches or anything of that matter and normally I’d have no problem hiring a regular officiant, someone ordained or whatever. However, my Fiance is Lutheran, and although he doesn’t go to church on a regular basis and said he would be fine with a regular officianl, I know his family wants an actual Lutheran Pastor because they are all pretty religious (grandparents especially).
I know I’ll get a lot of “it’s your day, not theirs” type of responses, which trust me I know. But I want his family to appreciate the ceremony as well and I’m willing to have a slighlty religious ceremony for their benefit. My family could care less on who or what religion the officiant is.
I’ve looked over all of the local wedding officiants for hire in my area, and yeah some are great, but I just don’t know.
Should I attempt to try and contact some local Lutheran churches to see if any would be willing to do a ceremony without neither Fiance or I being a member of the church, even though Fiance is confirmed?
Ughh…so frustrated… Thanks for any input bees!
