Finding the dress was easy. Started searching for my shoes and boy is it hard! My wedding colors are plum, grey and light blue. My fiance is going to wear a light grey suit (which he hasn’t picked yet) and the groomsmen are wearing charcoal grey suits. My bridesmaid’s dresses are deep plum taffeta.
Here is my dress:
I think I am going to wear sash made from the same material as my bridesmaid’s dresses:
This is showing the dress on me with a pink sash (they didn’t have a purple one in the store):
First I was thinking a light blue shoe for my “something blue” but I haven’t found anything I liked. Plus I realized I am probably NEVER going to re-wear a pair of light blue shoes. Then I started looking at light grey shoes (to match my fiance’s suit) which I am much more likely to rewear and I found these:
I LOVE the color. LOVE the patent leather. LOVE the bow. HATE the price. I was thinking max would be about $500 for shoes and I was really hoping for something more like the 300 range.
Anyway, I like the idea of a light grey paten leather heel if I can find one I like that’s 500 or less but was wondering what others thought.
I also saw these at Nordstroms (in Nordies they looked lighter grey like the Fendi ones this picture makes them look more taupe on my monitor) and the price is high but a little better:
Do you think light grey patent leather would look good with my dress?
Other suggetstions? I really hate satin. My derss is taffeta and as you can see I go for “simpler” styles.

Honestly I’d go with either a deep plum to match the sash or white/ ivory. I think grey would look a little odd with a plum sash but if you love the idea then do it. Shoes won’t be seen much except for cute shoe pics. Even $300 seems like a lot for shoes though, my limit was $100 🙂

@lessthan3: Mm good to see you open up to the idea of other colors. I could see silver or grey working, but am tentative about patent leather. I was thinking satin for you, and maybe Badgley Mischkas or Kate Spades. Gonna try to find some photos of what i’m thinking of!

It’s the Adelaide by Alyne Bridal (which is by Rivini). And I love that second shoe clip you posted – it has the purple and the blue!!!
@julies1949 Thanks for linking that image search site- that’s great and very helpful. I never knew about that site. Definitely checking it out.

@pengoala: Thanks for posting those. For some reason I have an aversion to satin- I just don’t like satin shoes (they seem old lady or too typical bridal to me). I do really love that Badgley Mischka Ina pump you posted- not sure how that funky ribbed fabric would look but I might order it and try it- I love the fabric rose on it. Just out of curiosity what is your aversion to patent leather? For some reason I am super attracted to the patent leather right now!! If it helps, my ceremony and reception are at an art gallery/photography studio so its more of an eclectic vibe and not super formal.
I went back to Nordies and I was wrong, this is the Miu Miu pump they had there which I LOVE (not the other one):
I just love the color and the style is very me. For some reason I can’t find this one anywhere online though (not even on the Nordstrom site). And there are a ton of similar style shoes out there but not many in this light grey!

@lessthan3: Hmm okay, that’s fair. Those pumps are gorgeous and definitely rewearable!
