Fiance and I went to look at wedding bands. The jeweler who made my ring is 6 hours away in my hometown, so we just popped in someplace else to browse. My ring is a very unique shape, and we know the jeweler who made it will probably have to create a band to go with it, or I’ll wear my e-ring only. Anyway.
The lady helping us at the jewelry counter kept pulling out one expensive high carat weight band after another, saying I “just didn’t know what I was missing out on” by choosing a plain band. Finally I told her we didn’t really see anything that jumped out at us, but we did love a band for Fiance and that we’d be back. She remarks “Fine! Don’t wear a wedding band. I guess you’ll just be single forever huh?!” WTF? Definitely *NOT* going back there for FI’s ring haha!

If you get married but don’t wear a high carat band, you are single? Did I miss a memo?
HAHAHAH are you really going to go back there?

Clearly that saleswoman has some issues..

This is hilariously ridiculous!

Ladies, ladies, come on. It’s a well-known fact that a marriage is not defined by the ceremony or commitment two individuals make to each other. Heck no! A marraige is defined by how blingy the ring is!!!

bizarro – just completely!

Wow…someone had her undies on too tight…..lol
I can’t believe she would say that!

Also, what the hell is wrong with that salesperson? I instantly thought of Annie working at the jewelry shop in “Bridesmaids.” lol

Funnily enough I had a sales person say the same thing to me! She said “Shall we look at wedding bands? Don’t want people to think your perpetually engaged!”

Hahaha! She probably desparately needed the commision or else she’d get fired.
Our jeweler tried to push the high carat rings on me, too, even though I wanted a really thin band. He even said “But with a thin band, the diamonds will be smaller!!!!” Uhm, yeah. So?

This is why I hate going into jewelry stores. I never know if they’re going to treat me like a person or like I’m a pain in their ass.

Luckily, she wasn’t pushing anything on me, so it was more funny than anything. I agree with her! A couple of my friends are married and don’t have wedding bands, people are always asking them when the big day is!

There’s only ONE jewelry store I’d ever go to for good service and it’s in Richmond. Okay, two, if I’m being truthful, but my Fiance prefers the one in Richmond and to be honest, so do I!!
Some places will just try to shove certain stuff on you, where others are more interested in the customer’s wants.

Good thing she didn’t see my diamond-less tourmaline rings, she’d probably have keeled over and died right there from my blatant slap in the face of Marriage.
