What are you concerned about? Your body temp rises while you sleep and heat makes things expand. Run your hands under the cold tap or wait it out.

My fingers swell like crazy especially in the summer. When I have no swelling my ring size is a 3.5. But when it’s hot outside my fingers swell and I’m probably around a 4.25. I have my rings sized to a 4.25-4.5 depending on the band width. So in the winter my rings spin and are big on me but in the summer they fit perfectly. So if I were you I’d get a size 5- 5.25 that way you don’t have finger muffin top during the hot months 🙂 my fingers are always swollen when I wake up in the morning, as the move around throughout the day it goes down. Drinking lots water helps a little bit.

jellybellie:  Being a bit swollen in the morning is totally normal, I think. I have this same issue. If I go to put any of my rings on first thing in the morning, they are a bit tight.

My fingers also swell up in hot weather. I honestly don’t know how much, as I tend to wear my rings loose, too. If you got sized in a warm store and your finger was already a little swollen from taking rings on and off, it’s likely that you will be OK in the summer without resizing your ring. You might have to wait for the warmer weather to arrive to know for sure, though. If your ring is super, super tight and uncomfortable in the mornings, I agree with

mrssloan2013:  . You might want to go up a quarter of a size or even a bit more. My rings in the mornings are a bit tighter than usual, but not to the point where they are uncomfortable.

Good luck in deciding what to do! Figuring out the perfect ring size can be pretty tough.

I notice my fingers are swollen in the morning too. I would say that how they are in the morning is about how they are during hot summer days. I’ve never had them swell to a point where I couldn’t take my rings off, in case that is one of your concerns, just had them be difficult to get on and off. Once they are on they aren’t uncomfortable.

I used to get swollen fingers in the morning sometimes, but I cut down on sodium and started drinking a lot of water, and now that doesn’t happen. You’re probably just dehydrated and retaining water.

Oh god I hate my swelling fingers. y’all are lucky if you only deal with this problem in the morning. Mine seem to fluctuate a full size many times throughout the day. I drink tons of water but nothing helps. My ring’s sized so that it’s snug when I’m at my swelliest and then spinning a bit when I’m at my least swelly. It’s a good compromise because even though I have to deal with it sometimes being tighter than I’d like, I never have to worry about it sliding off my finger.

ugh. Swelly fingers make me so sad.

Mine swell throughout the day, but I think the time that swell or unswell may be different for everyone.  Summer seems to be unversally bad though.  I can be a full size larger in the summer and have to not wear a band to make it fit.  And in the dead of winter I could have to wear 2 bands to keep everything on.  I drink more than 2L of water a day too, and while I am sure it helps, I think some people are just prone to it.

jellybellie:  My fingers swell throughout the day, but especially right when I first wake up and durnig/after working out.  They are similar to this size during the summer.  My ring is currently a size 5.5, but it spins around like crazy in the winter.  It feels a little snug when my fingers are swollen, but not so much that I can’t easily get my rings off or that I have muffin top–but I prefer my ring on the looser side.  So I’d consider getting your ring re-sized to something in the middle if you’re worried, as opposed to getting it re-sized depending on the season.

jellybellie:  YES!  This happens to me, I’m such a freak it makes me feel claustrophobic when I can’t get my ring off so I don’t wear my ring when I’m having a hot bath for instance, or on a long haul flight in case it gets stuck and I panic!

Mine only swell in the morning  if I ate a lot of salt at dinner the night before, but they return to normal within a few hours. If it happens to you every single morning, though, then I can see how annoying that would be. I would probably get it sized up a little if it’s that bad in the winter, but I think you are smart to wait until summer and see how bad it gets. You might try buying a cheap ring in size 5 or 5.25 and wearing it for a few days to see if that would be more comfortable without falling off your finger in the afternoons.

jellybellie:  My fingers are my biggest  in the morning as well.  But that doesn’t bother me because it goes back down throughout the day.  I would just go up a quarter size and see if that helps.
