I personally wouldn’t want to stick my fingers in ink with really nice clothes on. It’d be my luck I wouldn’t wipe all of it off and it would end up smudged across my clothes or on my face (I tend to touch my face a lot).

I would also manage to get the ink all over my face. Not sure how, but I would. I think they look really cool though!

Did the tree one a few years ago, they had wet wipes next to the ink and a waste basket next to the table. No mess, and I can be a messy girl. Whether they are in or not? Not sure. All that matters is if YOU want to have it in your house for years to come. Don’t worry about trends, think of the long term.

I think they are fun! But I would be very worried that I’d mess up the design. I tend to be messy, and I wouldn’t want to make a splash out of my fingerprint :c

A friend did one of the fingerprint trees at her wedding early last year. It was a nice idea (and it looked beautiful when they hung it on the wall) but it made me realise that I didn’t want to do anything like this at my own wedding. They had wet wipes, but some people still managed to get ink on themselves without realising.

The last thing I want near me in my wedding dress is people with ink on their fingers. :p

We did one. We had water based light coloured inks and wet wipes. No mess.

The only downside was we had our venue take it away after the reception due to U.K. Weddings being generally very late night boozey affairs and we didn’t want it trashed. So I know we missed some people. But that happens with a normal book too.

I did one for my wedding and it was awesome! The ink wipes off really easily and guests loved it! Here is a picture of how it turned out

My friend’s wedding had one last year. They had an attendant to make sure everyone did it correctly and walked away with clean hands. Lol

Am I the only one who would feel liked I’m being booked for a crime?

pearltheflowerpup :  I think they look cool but I skipped them the few times I’ve seen them at weddings. I have a weird thing about getting ink or paint on my skin though lol

I didn’t want to do the fingerprint, but I loved the tree idea, so we had a tree where each guest signed a leaf.  It worked well.

pearltheflowerpup :  I mean thats a different idea..but why? There’s nothing meaningful behind a fingerprint unless you suspect one of your guest may be involved in a crime lol.

But in all seriousness…you won’t be able to tell fingerprints apart so I think it’s just too much of a stretch and not memorable.

We had a fingerprint tree. I love it, and it is hanging in my living room next to our wedding photos.

I had a package of baby wipes that took the ink off, next to the ink and canvas (as well as a mini trash can), so ruining clothes, ink on faces, did NOT occur for my guests. The wipes were in a plastic case that was painted to match the wedding colors, so it was also not like a bag of wipes was just sitting on the table.

I didn’t want to do a regular book, and I wanted something that I would display that was attractive. My personal opinion is that I do not want a canvas or print with a bunch of sloppy messages on it (or curse words- or lewdness). My SILs guest “book” was a wooden letter that was signed, and it had so many curse words on it that she keeps it in a storage closet in her basment. I didn’t want that.
