- Wedding: August 2013
Well ladies, I am so proud of myself because I finally finished the Bridesmaid boxes! This evening is my Bacheleroette Party (SUPER excited!), and I wanted them done while all my girls are here to claim them. I wanted to share them with you in case anyone else out there is thinking about making them! I actually asked them to be bridesmaids verbally months ago, but I feel like this makes it more official 😉
I had 8 girls to make them for, yeesh! One of them already took hers home.
And I used a wood burner to write each of their names on the top.
I Bought the boxes at Michaels, and all the supplies at craft stores too. Except for the liquor and candy 🙂
I painted the inside yellow and outside gray to match my color scheme.

~cutesy note asking “will you be my bridesmaid?” with boxes to check for yes, no and hell yeah!
~personal note describing why that girl is so special that i needed her in my wedding
I want my bridesmaids to wear mismatch gray dress that they choose themselves, so I kept track of the dresses I liked, printed the pictures and added them to the box. I also made a card listing some of the best websites and stores to look for dresses (although I forgot to take a picture of that!)
I picked up color swatches from WalMart to display my favorite shades of yellow and gray. And, I added a card describing what I hope the bridemaids can help me with before the wedding.
I added a card about the wedding details, making sure they knew the day, time and place. As the ceremony is unique in that there are MANY stone steps down to the “alter”, I added a photo so they knew what they were getting into and could wear better shoes.
And my favorite part: I wrote a very brief description of each of the bridesmaids and flower girls and how I know them. I am really hoping this helps them to feel like they know eachother a little bit better.
And that is it! 8 bridemaid boxes in about 6 months! Wish I finished them sooner, but so glad they are done now! I can’t wait to give them away tonight!
