- Wedding: October 2011
So my dress came in recently (yay!) and I went to see it this past weekend. It fit and it’s beautiful. The only problem is that the dress shop’s seamstress is leaving the country for a month and is not returning until a few days before my October wedding.
If I choose to use this seamstress, all of my fittings would have to be completed by the middle of September, a full month before the wedding. Is this a bad idea?
Truthfully, the dress doesn’t appear to need much work. It has a corseted back so that can be adjusted. The only major work is that we’re adding removable straps/cap sleeves, a bustle and probably some slight alterations at the bust. It doesn’t need to be hemmed.
The dress store recommended a nearby seamstress that they often use. We went there also but we felt less than confident and also like we were getting price gouged.
I really don’t want to go looking all over the place for a new seamstress. The stress is starting to get to me. Help!
