My cousin had them at her wedding. It was a huge hassel though she seemed pleased with the results (I left before it even got dark because I had to be up early the next morning).

You have pay for the contract with the company (the fireworks, the crew, etc), then you have to pay for a permit with your local government, and then also usually have to buy an insurance plan in case your venue catches fire. I would look up any major events in your area that offer fireworks and see who supplies them.

We had fireworks the night of our engagement but they were DIY by my Brother-In-Law

We looked into having them for our wedding but they are PRICEY (like $2000 in Georgia) and not only that but there are a lot of things they have to work out…like you have to have a space for them to shoot them off a certain distance from your reception. It ended up being way too expensive and too much to worry about!

@popover: Well people would have off for the 4th of July! But it would be really expensive for your guests to travel!

We were SO fortunate to have fireworks the night of our wedding AND we didn’t pay a penny!!

The other celebration at our venue had a fireworks display for their guests and our guests got to enjoy it too!  Plus, it made for neat photos and video too. It was wonderful for a July 3rd wedding!
