    I would talk to her about the problem and she what she says. If she says something like “I’ll find a short reading,” you’re stuck. If she volunteers to step down, you’re home free!

    @MissNachoLover:  I would try to think of something you could ask her to do instead like hand out programs or some other little thing.  Be honest, that your fiance asked without consulting you that you’d already asked someone – kind of, sorry about the mixup, you know how men can be – but ask her to do something else so she’s still a part of things.
