Our first wedding anniversary is coming up, but I’m totally blanking on what to do for my Lovebug. What did you do for your first anniversary? We’re going to the hotel we got married at and spending the weekend there, but gift wise, I’m stumped! HELP!

Ours is coming up later this summer! We may or may not give some small token gifts in addition, but we decided to take a big vacation and consider the traditional “paper” first anniversary gift to be the plane tickets.

We actually decided to try to take a “second honeymoon” shortly after our first anniversary.

I’m stumped for a gift too! Here’s the tenative plan I have for the day though…I know Darling Husband will have to work, but he’ll leave a bit early. We’re going to go to the park we were married at and just walk around and reminisce =) Then going at to dinner at the restaurant where we had our rehersal dinner, and staying the night at the hotel we spent our wedding night at, where we’ll eat a replica of the top tier of our cake just like we ate the real top tier back at our hotel room last year (our bakery includes that in their wedding packages for your first anniversary).

For a wedding present we got a gift of a night in this nice hotel a couple hours from where we are with dinner and breakfast. We have decided to save this for our first anniversary. We also have a bottle of red and a bottle of white that is left from our wedding that we are saving for our anniversary.
We actually didn’t end up with a bottle of red left and when Darling Husband went on a trip home last month he stopped by the vineyard where we had got our wine and picked up a bottle of the red. We can’t buy it were we live. He surprised me with this which was awesome!

Our first anniversary will be in September, and we’ll be taking a road trip to Los Angeles the weekend before (it falls on the tuesday after labor day), so I imagine we’ll celebrate in LA, particularly since that’s where we met! 😀

We was suppose to go to a ski resort but they didn’t open in time due to lack of snow & such.. Plus I was sick. I had started my period the night before & I get bad cramps, dehydrated & sometimes even puke. :/ So we spent the weekend home. But my husband wanted to make the best of it so he went out and rented two movies & brought home dinner & surprised me with a huge card that he made from poster board. 🙂 We also got a small cake & drank from our wine glasses from our wedding day & fed each other the cake. So even though I was sick we had a really good movie day cuddleing under the covers on the couch. Couldn’t have went better, not even at the ski resort! 🙂
As far as gifts go he got me an anniversary band for my right hand & I got him a stainless steal bracelet.

Darling Husband and I are going on a trip to the OR coast for our anniversary. We didn’t have a traditional honeymoon, so it’s going to be our first little romantic getaway.
I’m also thinking about getting the windows tinted on his new car as a surprise gift.

So it sounds like our anniversary at the hotel is a pretty popular idea. I was thinking maybe I could write to the NY Mets and have an autograph sent back to me on some kind of “paper” for the “paper anniversary,” but there’s no guarantee that they’d be so generous! He LOVES the Mets!

Since it’s the “paper anniversary,” we got eachother tickets to things we knew the other wanted to go to–he got tickets to a concert I really wanted to see that’s in July, and I told him I’ll get him tickets to a football game he wants to go to (they aren’t available yet but I promised him!). We also took a little 4-day trip to Atlantic City and ate dinner at the restaurant where we went on our first date and where we got engaged. It was really nice–we even came home from the trip with more money than we started with!
