We have no idea what we’re going to get each other. I just asked Darling Husband: “I dunno.” And then he asked me, and I said the same thing: “I dunno.” Eh, we have about two months to figure it out.

How about instead of something, you join the total funds and do something.

A great concert, a B&B for a night or two, hire a chef to come to the house to serve a gourmet meal, couples massages, a cooking class together, a wine tasting class etc.

Traditionally, the first anniversary gift is paper- modern is a clock.

Bakerella did framed pics made of maps:

First year wedding anniversary gift ideas? : wedding anniversary present paper Anniversary Map

Here’s her tutorial:

Here’s another idea I liked- printing the lyrics to “your song” on paper doves

wedding anniversary gift 1st Anniversary

other ideas:

tickets to something he would like to see or attend

a scrapbook of your first year of married life

if he’s really into any particular team you can get an interesting gift here:

Our’s is in December! I have already been tinking about this alot, actually. ๐Ÿ˜›

I want to get him a tungsten bracelet. (His wedding band is tungsten.) & I also want to play into the paper tradition for the 1 year anniversary. I have been thinking of a couple different things. One was trying to find a signed photo or book or something from Dale Jr in nascar. Maybe nascar tickets. I also thought about writing a letter. I know some bee’s have bought cook books & certain things their husband’s are into for the paper gift. ๐Ÿ™‚

Since photo albums are made of paper, I decided to do a boudoir photoshoot for my hubby!  HE was shocked and absolutely LOVED it!!!  I bought pretty/sexy lingerie from clearance racks for about $30 total, purchased a pair of sexy stiletto’s (which I returned after the shoot), found a photographer and makeup artist that did it for about $200, then made the photobook with a coupon on Shutterfly for about $30.  It might be a bit over your budget, but I’m sure your hubby will be amazed!

We took a trip together to see the Indy500.  We’re big race fans and I’ve always wanted to go, so I pretty much insisted.  ๐Ÿ™‚  It was tons of fun!  He’s big on experiences instead of things, and I just make him buy me some kitchy souvenier while we’re there.  Win-win.  All in all, it didn’t cost that much – we spent one night at a hotel, an evening out (tapas, wine bar), race tickets, and food (we’re close enough to drive – so gas).

I think what we are going to do is take pics at the venue we got married at in casual attire. I saw a great inspiration photo that made me want to do this. The couple were posed with a sign in the bottom corner that said “happily ever after startED here” I think she’s actually on the Bee. Afterwards we’re going to a nice dinner at a very fancy restaurant (we may rent a limo for awhile) and exchaning cards.

Check out My Dreamlines as they can sketch your gown and his suit.  Lovely piece of art and perfect for the paper anniversary! My brother gave this to his wife.
