Definately feel the same way. the first time was different but it has gotten back to normal! With the thought in the back of your mind that OMG we could have just made a BABY! haha

That and an adult lifetime of conditioning to not get pregnant makes it feel very very strange.  It gets better/less awkward, though.  Hope you get your BFP soon!

@pmerr:  ours was totally awkward and actually stayed quite awkward whenever we were baby BDing! But I am pregnant so it still  did the trick!

It is kind of awkward, isn’t it? Unfortunately we didn’t conceive this month, and Darling Husband quipped last night, “Maybe I need to get those little suckers a GPS for Christmas!”

Kind of new to the hive and the acronyms, but, ummm, what does BD mean?

@pmerr Good luck and have fun TTC!

@pmerr:   It won’t just be the first time, haha.  It’s technically “planned” sex so the awkwardness, at least for us…has yet to subsite.

I agree! My husand has the maturity of a 18 year old, and of course was very sheltered. He originally thought if we BD during my “fertile time”  that would seal the deal and baby would be on its way! I WISH!!!!! haha  So that took time to explain how it all worked…  then he didnt realize that semen comes back out but sperm stays- therefore after BD he would say “Thats the problem, your spitting me out?! ” WTF really?!  But the best has to be one night, he crawls into bed, rubs my belly and says… “Time to give ya a belly full of my special sauce!” I was about to kill him! I said, “Dear, you are weird, and ridiculous… and your lucky this benefits me right now or you wouldn’t get some for being so… you” LoL!

Oh, I had several awkward encounters while TTC.  We had to have help with fertility meds, so most of our TTC BD’ing was “timed”.  Once during the window, we were watching the local news and I made a comment about how the local weather guy looks like a mole.  Then, in the same breath said that we should probably go have sex now.  Needless to say, Darling Husband was not in the mood.  Then, during another round of treatment, we had to have sex at like 5:30 in the morning.  The whole thing was forced and tired and less than sexy.  At least we did get out of bed to brush our teeth.  Gotta keep the spark alive!

TTC BDing is definitely awkward, and exhausting! We BD’ed for 5 days in a row last fertile window, and neither one of us was really up for more for a few days once I confirmed O….hahahaha. One day I was the one who got performance anxiety and I almost couldn’t do it, pretty sure this was O day too! Ahhh! The first month we were “NTNP” but I was actually trying, and the sex was much better then because Darling Husband thought I was just seducing the crap out of him! Haha…should have just kept doing that, but Darling Husband knew something was up because we hardly ever had sex that often before, so I caved and practically begged him to officially start to try. I think he likes it a lot more than me, he is like “Wow, we had sex 5 days in a row! The only other time we did that is when we were first dating!”  Yes, Darling Husband, and I have no freaking clue how I did it back then! Lol!

@emersynsmommy35:  “then he didnt realize that semen comes back out but sperm stays”

Is this true? lol. We are not trying not to get pregnant, and my husband has made this comment as well about how I “reject” all of his fluids”  I haven’t like read up on anything, and don’t remember hearing this anywhere.

Interesting!

@misskarianne:  I googled it one night because I was so confused! haha It says that the semen is what carries the sperm, and they are extra quick but the semen has no where to go so it comes right back where it came from! haha
