My bet is it’s nothing, but tbh you probably won’t know until you see what happens over your next few cycles. My cycles after BCP were all over the place: 21 days; 40 days; 35….so try not to stress!

CanadianBride456:  Ehh I wouldn’t be worried too much about it.  Most likely because it’s your first cycle off BC it will be long and wonky.  My guess is you probably Oed SUPER late and therefore your cycle will be longer than normal.  My first cycles off BC have been 35, 33, and 35 days respectively.  Right now I’m on day 26 still waiting to O so my cycles are still screwed up.  GL bee!

TOTALLY normal. It can take several cycles before your body regulates! Also, long cycles doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant! With my daughter I had been on the pill for 10 years and got pregnant the second cycle, despite 36 day cycles.

CanadianBride456:  I think my first cycle off BCP was about 45 days. Totally normal. Took about 3 months before they really evened out and became regular.

My first cycle off BCP was over 100 days. I think 113. I was on the pill for +10 years as well. It’s totally normal and nothing to be worried about if it’s a little longer then “normal”. My dr said to come in if I didn’t get a period within 3 months.

CanadianBride456:  Normal! My first cycle off BC after 13-14 years was 33 days long. I usually avergaed 28 on the pill, so that was weird for me. It took a couple cycles to somewhat regulate, and I was around 25 days after that.

CanadianBride456:  Don’t feel silly! It’s my first cycle off of BC too (*waves*) and I’m nervous about everything.

I’m having a shorter cycle myself – I think I O’d about day 15, but then got my period about day 24. That makes me nervous about having a short-ish luteal phase. Then I’m not seeing any CM (like, any) which makes me nervous that maybe I didn’t O at all (although my temps seem to suggest that I did). Then I’m worried that maybe I’m O’ing but the sperm won’t be able to live because I don’t have any CM. Then I’m wondering if maybe I should be using OPK’s to confirm…. as you can see, I’m basically running myself around in circles.

My point is, I think it’s nervous for us ladies in our first and second (and third and fourth, lol) cycles off of BC to be a little nervous about whether things are “normal.” I brought up some of these questions with my doctor, and she suggested that I just relax and let things happen for at least three months. Easier said than done, I know, but I thought it was good advice. 🙂 Good luck OP!

CanadianBride456:  My first cycle after 10 years on birth control was 8 weeks long. It was awful. They went to 28 days after that though.

I’m trying for #2 currently and on cd50. I went to see an acupunturist last night and we are going to work on fertility and getting my cycles under control. One thing he mentioned was drinking organic dandelion root tea. He said I could have a couple cups a day. Doesn’t hurt to try!
