larissakay :  It can definitely be a little tricky if you are staying at someone’s house! If you don’t want to miss it I would make a plan to still test while you’re there. One idea would be to bring a plastic bag and just store any garbage in there–for me that would have been dixie cups and the wrappers/test strips. Although that time for me hasn’t fallen while we’re at someone’s house I did test everyday through a long weekend camping my relatives, and that required being a little sneaky but it wasn’t too bad! I definitely think you should test everyday for the clearest picture, especially near your fertile window.

AORiver15 :  Great!  How long was your cycle those two months?  I am sooo impatient with everything in life.  I just do not like uncertainty.  I always think the worst when  I do not know what’s happening.

larissakay :  I would still test if I was in somebody else’s house.  Just dispose of it in a discrete manner once you are done testing.

AngelR88 :  The first was 35 days, the second I am not sure as we did conceive but I would guess based on the same O day that it would have been similar!

AngelR88 :   AORiver15 :  Thanks for the advice, guys. Just realized that we’ll be in the exact same situation next month with my family if we don’t get pregnant this month, so I guess I’ll have to come up with a plan for some sneaky disposal of pee sticks and discrete BD-ing. Our room at the in-laws’ shares a very thin wall with DH’s parents, so this might be a little awkward. embarassed

I’m going through the TWW for the first time and it’s hard to avoid symptom spotting.  I definitely have symptoms that are NOT normal for me, but it’s also my first month off BCP so who knows why my body is reacting this way!

I’m 10 dpo, have lower abdominal cramping (not the same type that I get before AF) and starting two days ago my boobs/nipples are super sore (noticeably more than normal).

Got a BFN this morning – couldn’t resist testing!  I’m still 4 days away from when AF should start so we’ll just see what happens.  Waiting sucks.

Holy crapalloooo!! I got two positive tests yesterday bees (my CD32)!! I cannot even beleive this it’s so crazy! just got my IUD out at the end of last month, right before my fertile window according to my chart… I mean, we joked about how crazy it would be to get pregnant that first “try” but damn- never thought it would actually happen! No real symptoms either, except a lack of my usual AF symptoms… Darling Husband said he thought my boobs were getting bigger, but I figured it was just wishful thinking! I had some really light cramping last night, which appears to be normal, and noticed my boobs are more tender & swollen- otherwise nothings! I guess I need to some research with my insurance company for a new OBGYN (I used Planned Parenthood before now, but their wait is always soo long due to last minute walkins)…

bit of an old thread but feels as good a place as any for an intro. Many years ago I was an active poster around the time of my wedding and remember thinking that I’d have to come back some day to the TTC boards as it always looked like a wonderfully supportive place. So, with a fresh username, the time has come!

I have to admit I was hoping I would quickly become pregnant after going off BCP and hardly have to give a thought to conceiving or wanting to share every detail with women who would understand. Ha. Haha.

I’m just to the end of my first official cycle trying though we went off BCP (after 6.5 years on) in early May before a wonderful last “pre-baby” international trip in which I definitely secretly hoped things would just happen. I wasn’t charting yet but know we hit one fertile day that cycle, though the overall cycle was like 41 days as I came off the hormones. Didn’t test or anything and no dice. Cycle in July came right back down to 32 days which was my norm pre-BCP but we had no BD days during the right times. So, August was full on with OPK tests and BD on -2, -1, 0.

Was supposed to test today (13DPO) or tomorrow but I saw some brown/tan stuff this morning after BD last night. Took the one test I had and a BFN, so I’m expecting full on AF tomorrow. Didn’t think it would bother me as much as it is since it is just the first month. Had thought I was out a week ago as nothing felt “different”, but the last few days noticed an increase in CM that seemed atypical to the dry pre-AF days. And a very high CP. Oh well, definitely broke out some wine and cheese tonight! And can’t stop thinking about what to try differently next time.

Look forward to getting to know everyone though I do hope that all our stays here are short 🙂

ohcaptainmycaptain :  I’m sorry you’re struggling so much… I wouldn’t wish what we went through on anyone, and I know so many people had it worse. There could be a light at the end of the tunnel, though! We got our BFP on cycle 9.  The only thing I did differently that cycle was start weekly acupuncture and did yoga for fertility when I had time. I don’t solely attribute our BFP to acupuncture, but I do believe it helped… My bbts we’re more steady and I was overall much more relaxed than I had been.

If you want to talk more about your struggles TTC, feel free to message me. I don’t mind chatting about the rollercoaster we went through and all the methods we tried.
