Now that we have booked our music we are getting into details of songs we wanted played, don’t want played… etc. The first song I want figured out is our first dance. My fiance and I love the same music, but when it comes to a song to dance to for a first dance I’m having difficulty deciding. We want something original… different… We are big fans of rock, classic rock, and texas/red dirt country. Any ideas?
Lucky by Jason Mraz featuring Colbie Caillat is our first dance song! The lyrics fit us perfect and we both heard the song for the first time the morning he proposed so it’s special. :)Personally I think the first dance should be something that is special to the wedding couple. Not just randomly chosen. But that’s just me.
Unforgettable by Nat King Cole is another one of our songs and will be our last dance song. 😀
We’re doing the Way I Am by Ingrid Michelson too! We were contemplating the Village of Virgins (I know, weird title) by Duke Ellington, but opted for the Ingrid song because its cuter and shorter! We’re still trying to figure out how to incorporate the Ellington song because its so cool.
Home by Chantal Kreviakzuk is a great song. This is my first dance song. I think it expresses how I feel about my fiance, Mr. Peacock.(this is really his name). He is an officer in the Army and our home will move a lot, but I know our home will always be where each other are. 🙂
We danced to "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson and it was PERFECT for us because of the light and silly lyrics AND we loved that the length of it. We didn’t really want to be out there on the dance floor forever, so this was the perfect choice for us!
Our entrance song was "My Best Friend" by Queen
We cut the cake to "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Cailait and "I’m Yours" by Jason Mraz
