Hmm firstly I would like to point of that you can have a FUN and TRADITIONAL wedding….

Secondly having a first dance is traditional and using that song is fun!

SOOO many people do an “off beat” first dance song all the way to choerographed dances or just to songs that they love but arent mainstream.

The only “downfall” i can see is if your family expects something super traditional and you dont do it….but its not there first dance is it….so who cares!! ๐Ÿ™‚

No worries.

Our first dance was Forever, by Ben Harper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHzAVDg4m1Q oh boy….havent listened to it since the wedding *tear* I wanted to do a choreogrpahed dance as well, but Dh was a no-go! ๐Ÿ™

I would recommend you do one with the BM’s as i am still sad that we didnt do something like that!

There are no downfalls to a nontraditional first dance. It’s your song choice at your wedding so it really doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Many people actually like that the couple chooses something that hasn’t been played at every other wedding.

The Lady Antebellum song is a great choice if that is what you both love.
