are you planning on doing this? If so how are you planning on making it look smooth without doing a full on dramatic entrance because I’m not into that..for those that have done it already, do you have a video or can you explain how it worked? Thanks 🙂

We did it — we were (of course) the last to be introduced into our reception after our parents and bridal party. Our dance floor was actually in a giant marble rotunda, so as the bridal party was being introduced, people were already standing in a big circle. When Darling Husband and I were introduced, we went straight to the middle, the DJ announced our first dance, and we were off!

That’s actually how I usually see it done. Just have the DJ turn on the music and announce you as you walk onto the dance floor.

Oh so people were standing because I was thinking people would be seated at their tables and have their meal orders taken and then we will arrive and be announced and go the dance floor from there? Do people normally stand for the first dance?

@Mrs2b2014: I usually see people standing for the first dance. You should tell your DJ what you want to do. Then the DJ can ask everyone can stand around the dance floor to welcome you.

@Mrs2b2014: we had a big entrance lol
We had the parents enter, then the bridal party and they lined up
Then us, we went under the bridal party as they raised their hands abd we danced a little to our entrance song and then the Dj announced that we will now have our first dance. We danced for about a minute and half by ourselves and then he asked everyone to join us.

@Mrs2b2014: the weddings I have been to. The bridal party is announced and stand at dance floor perimeter and then when bride and groom come in they walk in to their music kinda starting and go into the first dance. I like it that way. I think it’s more awkward to wait and call everyone to watch first dance later. Eyes are already on you- happy to see you.
