Fiance and I have been debating our first dance song since we got engaged 10 months ago. We’re finally down to two totally different songs: “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder and “Someone Like You” by Van Morrison. We like the energy of the Stevie Wonder song, but Fiance doesn’t dance so it will probably be infinitely easier to figure out how to dance to the slower Van Morrison song.
If we were to take dance lessons, when should we start? I’ve had some ballroom dance lessons but Fiance is starting from square one. And he’s not comfortable with dancing either, so we’re probably looking at more than just lessons to choreograph a first dance – he wants to learn some basic steps too.
Also, do we need to decide on our song before we start, or can we decide after we do some basic lessons (and maybe talk it over with our instructor)?
Would love to hear your experiences!
