My Fiance and I are working on ideas for the first dance song. I’ve had it in my head for a while now that Ray LaMontagne’s “Hold You in My Arms” would be a cool first dance song. I love his passion and the song. I know that the lyrics aren’t perfect, but who’s really going to notice the words except for the chorus over and over.
My fiance has a very different song in mind – Michael Buble’s “You and I”
I’m not sure what to do! Any thoughts or suggestions?

You could pick one for your first dance and use the other one for your last dance, or you could play part of one song for your first dance, and then finish up your first dance with the other song.

hubs and i made a playlist of all the songs we thought might be first-dance contenders, and then tried dancing to each of them. out of like, 30 (we had a lot of ideas!), only 1 seemed to have the right tempo for us PLUS make us both get a little choked up. so, maybe try that with your options? and a couple more songs if you can’t compromise?

@finnaroo: oooh, I love that idea! sounds fun and romantic, and a way to get something done for the wedding.

I know I’m late on this post but I just wanted to say, we’re going with Hold you in my arms! I’m so happy to see someone else knows and appreciates that song! We had a ton of contenders but we just kept going back to this one. I hope you guys find a song that you can agree on, but my vote is definitely for Ray! hehe
